Praise for this book

When I lost my cat Skeeter last year, I was overwhelmed with grief. I had no idea there were so many resources for those of us with a deep familial love for our animals at the time.
Juan Williams shares his heartwarming stories about his beloved beagle, which I found deeply relatable and comforting in my own journey of pet loss. This book is full of great ideas to help families move through their individual grieving experiences. I recommend it!

I lost my beloved Kobe a few years ago to heart failure. The feeling was nothing less than devastation and it still hurts. Anyone who says its just a pet doesn't understand and has never felt the love of a dog. This book brought back those pains but also helped me with the healing process and to know I'm not alone.

In reading this short, but insightful little book, I learned that the way I process grief has been mainly through denial. The part that talks about signs of denial resonated with me quite a bit.

This also helped me to see all the little memorials that my partner put up for our lost pet. At first those memorials upset me, and I could never quite understand or accept them. But this book gave me a new insight on that subject, and I feel it is easier to be more understanding and tolerant of others coping strategies, and hopefully improve mine too!
